Help Marc Beat Cancer

Donation protected

The day after Christmas, Marc was diagnosed with brain cancer.
From a young age, Marc had always had a passion for all things sports: soccer, basketball, football, and baseball; watching it or playing it, this was where he felt most at home. Marc has always been a reserved yet impactful and reliable teammate both on and off the field, always dedicating himself to any role that would help his team succeed whether it was making a goal, stealing the ball from his opponent, catching a pass, or stealing a base.
As a teenager, Marc continued dedicating his free time and passion to sports at El Camino Highschool in Oceanside, California from 2014 to 2019. One of his most memorable sports experiences was when his high school baseball team was invited to play a game at Petco Stadium against a cross-town rivalry, Vista High.
In August 2022, Marc graduated from Grand Canyon University with Cum Laude honors and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with an emphasis in Cybersecurity. Following his momentous graduation, Marc was ready to begin his career with his first job on January 3, 2023.
All this positive momentum came to a halt when he discovered he had a mass growing in his brain. During the 2022 holiday season, Marc had been continuously suffering from headaches, blurry vision, and incessant vomiting. The day after Christmas, his headache had gotten worse, and he nearly collapsed. Marc’s family rushed him to the hospital and after brain surgery to relieve the hydrocephaly along with a biopsy, he was given a diagnosis with a germinoma tumor in the central part of his brain.
Due to the location in the brain, the tumor cannot be removed surgically. The next step is to embark on a regimen of chemotherapy and radiation for 5-6 months.
As many of us know, these therapies come at a lofty cost. Since Marc was not able to start his new job, he is unemployed and not financially able to handle the costs associated with rigorous cancer treatment.
As a 21-year-old, Marc is doing his best to navigate this unexpected life event, but we realized very early on, he cannot do it alone. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of being around Marc, you know that he will light up any room with his positive, easy-going attitude as well as how much of a humble, kind-hearted young man he is, rarely feeling the need to ask for anyone’s help.
We would like to ask family, friends, and our community to support with any contribution to Help Marc Beat Cancer. Do not feel obligated to contribute if you are unable to, spreading the word and lifting him up in prayer is also greatly appreciated.
