Dear Family and Friends:

As many of you know, our daughter, sister, niece and friend Kerry Coates has been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophk Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease)), a progressive neurodegeneratlve disease that currently has no cure.

Though there is currently no cure for ALS, treatment can drastically slow the progress of symptoms, prevent complications, extend lifespans and improve the quality of life for those suffering. With treatment, some people can live with ALS for 5 – 10 years.

Living with ALS and caring for a family member with this disease comes with overwhelming expenses, much of which is not covered by insurance.

Kerry and her devoted husband Sheldon are very private people and have tried to deal with this situation privately and with dignity. However, this cost has become too much and they need our help.
