Please help me pay for my amputation medical bills

Hi my name is Scott,

I’m trying to raise funds to pay for the extras that benefits and OHIP do not cover for my recent amputation.

I recently had my right leg amputated after 17 years of surgeries and pain from an accident when I was 25 years old. I had broken my ankle so badly that there were no bones attaching my foot to my leg. Including the first surgery to put the ankle in place, I had 6 surgeries that were intended to help reduce pain which did not work.

I’m July of 2020 I started feeling more pain than usual and it kept getting worse, so I went to see my surgeon. He found that I had a sunken ankle which there was no surgical solution for other than amputation. After quite a bit of time thinking about it I agreed that it was the best option. So in November of 2020 I had the amputation.

Since then I have been on long term disability from my job, which means that I am only paid percentage of my salary. 

I have had to pay for many extras adding up to thousands of dollars and have now gone through my savings. I still have to pay for the extras that my insurance won’t cover like my final prosthetic leg.  I would also like to get ramps installed so that I can get in and out of my house, laundry room & kitchen in my wheelchair.

Im not sure how Go Fund Me works but I could really use the help to pay for these things. I don’t like asking but I really have to in this case so anything you can help with will be greatly appreciated.
