Little miss Mia

Hi all, my name is Uncle Casey Wells, and I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read my call for support.

My little niece Mia Shute who is a mere 10 years old has been experiencing alarming onsets of fast heart rates at school (reaching well above 200bpm). She was taken to the local hospital and kept in over night for close observations, later then being told she has a condition called 'Cardiac Fibroma'. This condition has now quite quickly resulted in needing an open heart surgery to try and remove as much of the tumor inside the hearts passage as possible. Mia will have a 30cm incision made into her chest and through the sternum to access her heart. Once this agonizingly long surgery is finished, she will then be placed into a minimum 3 day induced coma to let her body rest. Mia's road to recovery is going to be a very long 8 months of rehabilitation to get her back to her feet.

The recovery and rehab will be on them to try and finance, overnight stays in Melbourne while she's resting, medication, fuel for travelling, bills, etc. etc. It also needs to be said that Mia is one of four children in this family and the juggle to not only tend to her needs but her siblings needs as well throughout this stressful time is paramount.

As you can imagine this is not something parents should watch their children go through, so hopefully these funds raised will be able to support my little sisters family unit out.
