Homecoming for Catherine
Donation protected
On December 13, 2020 Catherine Streeto-Michaud was senselessly murdered in her home. Cathy was involved in a long term relationship with the assailant. He was someone she loved and trusted.
Catherine had a rough last few years she was battling a long list of health conditions including end stage liver failure, depression and was basically bedridden for the last few years due to CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy) in which she developed from blows to the head during physical encounters with him. Sadly, there were protective orders in place in hopes to prevent contact between the two. He violated them SEVERAL times (see photo for records). If anyone has experience with Domestic Violence you'll understand how manipulating a partner can be, how they can make you feel as if you need them, how you are nothing without them. This is what Kevin Bard did, he took advantage of my aunt he knew exactly what to say to her, he refused to leave and ultimately murdered my aunt.
This may be gruesome for some to read but I want the severity of the situation to be felt. During an argument, Kevin left the apartment and returned with a Bowie knife. He went over to her bed and sliced her throat barely leaving her head intact. He then called my aunt and told her "I did something bad to shut her mouth". He sat on the couch with direct view of her as he waiting for the police to arrive.
We as a family are deeply saddened by this tragic event, if you knew Catherine you knew how beautiful she was. She always looked her best with her long blonde hair which was always styled perfectly. Her smile was contagious and her personality was infectious. She will be forever cherished, she left an impact on everyone that knew her .
Donation proceeds will go to the arrangements for her burial, her headstone, and the cleanup of her home. Our hopes are to start a foundation in Catherine's name to shine light on domestic violence, in the mean time if you or someone you know are a victim of domestic violence please know there are resources available to you, you can call or chat with someone from the National Domestic Violence hotline at 1.800.799.7233. Don't be afraid to seek help before something tragic happens.
