Support Matthew Zbinden's Critical Recovery
Donation protected
On the night of Saturday, October 12, 2024, Matthew Zbinden was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection. The collision caused him to sustain critical, life-threatening injuries. He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, where his condition was deemed so severe that he had to be airlifted to a trauma center.
Matthew has endured extensive and catastrophic injuries. His right leg suffered a compound fracture of the femur, which severed major arteries and veins, putting his life at immediate risk. His right arm is also broken requiring surgery. The force of the impact against his helmet caused significant trauma to his face, resulting in a shattered nose, jaw, cheekbones, and eye sockets. Most of his teeth were either knocked out or left severely damaged. In addition, Matthew's injuries include a collapsed lung, which has required mechanical assistance for breathing, and his kidneys have become severely impaired, raising further medical concerns. He has undergone aortic reconstructive surgery, the insertion of a tracheostomy tube, and a feeding tube to stabilize his condition.
To date, Matthew has undergone eight surgeries, with many more required, including complex facial reconstruction and dental replacements. His journey toward recovery will be long and patience seeking.
We are humbly asking for financial support in this incredibly challenging time, as most costs will be paid out of pocket. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward Matthew's medical expenses and help alleviate the financial burden on his family. Your prayers and well-wishes for his full recovery are also greatly appreciated.
