Two years ago, Kevin and I visited Treasure Beach in Jamaica. We stayed at an AirBnB and had the most precious housekeeper and cook during our stay. Liz became family. Her family became part of our family. They sustained major damage to their home during Hurricane Beryl and had just got the repairs fixed when Hurricane Melissa came in. Although the house itself is made of concrete and is still standing, they sustained major damage to their roof. Once the roof failed, the contents of their house were ruined. The family had a garden for food and 80 chickens….all flooded or lost. They will have to fix the electrical pole on their property before the power company will restore their power. Right now, food and water are the biggest needs as the roads to Treasure Beach are still treacherous for any relief to come in. Liz is a single mom of 4 kids and 1 grandbaby. Anything you can contribute will help them more than you know. Liz’s profession relies on tourism and obviously there is none right now.
