December 3rd, 2019, ten year old Kooper Huck Walker found out his life was forever changed. His doctors informed him, he was the proud owner of a useless pancreas - Kooper was diagnosed with Juvenile Type 1 Diabetes.
This rare disease appears in adolescence, shutting down pancreatic production of insulin resulting in unstable blood sugar. This is a LIFE THREATENING disease. Treatment can help, but this critical condition can not be cured. Kooper will be fighting his entire life to stabilize his blood sugar.
This is where technology steps in. To help Kooper achieve the most normal 10-year old life possible, he needs an insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor. Specifically, a Tandem T1 Slim insulin pump and Dexcom G6 glucose monitor. This technology would greatly lower the risk of long term damage or unpredictable hypoglycemia/hyperglycemia which can lead to many health problems or even death. We must prevent that from happening and give Kooper the best life possible!
Unfortunately, this life-saving equipment does not come cheap! Even with insurance, Kooper's parents are looking at a $6,000 - $10,000 out-of-pocket expense to get Kooper the equipment he needs.
Kooper's parents are Billy Bob Walker and Jo Gayle Walker. Billy Bob is a state game warden and Jo Gayle is a Kindergarten teacher. As government employees, they do receive healthcare insurance, but the financial cost not covered is a huge burden. Our team, the Curry, Burks & Middick Families ask for your help to ease their financial stress. Any and all donations will be directly used to purchase diabetic equipment and supplies for Kooper.

Kooper is an active 10 year kid that loves karate, riding his dirt bike, reading Harry Potter and playing Minecraft. His family of four are from a small Oklahoma town and spend their free time hunting, fishing, and living the lake life at Lake Texoma! We hope to help the Walker family return to normal life with the help of a new glucose monitor and insulin pump.
