Cycling 5,000+ miles with Diabetes
UPDATE: The plan is now to bike from Vancouver down to San Diego along Adventure Cycling Association's Pacific Coast Route.
Erik is now riding solo as Taylor is back in nursing school and Annalisa returned to Brooklyn.

Erik Douds and two close friends are cycling across America to prove that type 1 diabetes has no limitations.
The team is pedaling 4,500 miles along the Trans America Trail from the east coast of Virginia to the west coast of Oregon.
Our goal is to use DiabetesAbroad.com as an online platform to create and publish the resources so any traveler with diabetes can replicate a journey like this.
We are looking for sponsors to help out in any way to cover the general expenses of this trip. This includes maintaining the bikes, too many medical supplies, food, lots of food, and lodging (at a minimum).

An added perk...
Erik is also part of Connected in Motion's Adventure Team. A group of eight hikers with type 1 diabetes are backpacking in Vancouver Island for seven days to raise $25,000 CAN dollars.
