We'll Rebuild! Barry & Amber Morris

Donation protected
When Barry and Amber's barn burned to the ground on July 10th, their business and sole source of income burned down with it. Everything - the building, equipment, machines, tools, packing supplies and innumerable small necessities were consumed by the fire. Personal items, too- their snowblower, bicycles, furniture, boxes of Amber's books, Barry's fishing poles, carpentry tools and home improvement materials for the house - even their daughter's kayak that had been lovingly handmade by her grandfather. It's all gone, into a heartbreaking pile of ashes.

But, in true Barry and Amber style, they are determined to rebuild. Adirondack Blacksmith will continue!

At the moment, however, it all looks pretty bleak as they wait for the  insurance company to decide if they will keep their end of the bargain, or if they will take the low road and make excuses about which items they can avoid covering. Either way, it all takes a really long time, and as we all know, you can only go so long without a paycheck.

We're hoping that some will feel inclined to help them get back on their feet - buy the tools they need to start getting orders out again and put a roof over their operation. We hope that a good number of family and friends can contribute, but we're hoping that even some not-yet-met Vermonters will help this small Wells-based business get back on its feet. Vermont doesn't have very many young families staying around to start businesses, and Barry and Amber are a true testament to what can be the future of "the brave little state".

They built Adirondack Blacksmith from a strong sense of independence and determination - and they will do it again. But, we'd sure like to help them recover and get back on their feet - and get this black mess off their back porch!

If you can, will you please help?  It will mean so much to them.

P.S.  When we told Barry and Amber that we were planning this Go Fund Me, they said they'd like to say thank you by building a gift for their donors when they get into their new shop. Honestly, we hope that they have soooo many supporters that they could never get around to building that many shelf brackets, but maybe we could say all donors who give their names to Go Fund Me will be entered into a drawing?  Here's what we're thinking - three  randomly selected people will receive six of Barry's favorite bracket in the finish of their choice. We don't have the details worked out yet, but knowing Barry and Amber, and their overwhelming thankfulness to all who've reached out a helping hand the last few days, it will be amazing, beautiful, and built with love.
