3 years ago, my brother and I joined MAS Thai Boxing in an attempt to grow our knowledge and expand our experience with martial arts. Since then we have travelled all across Ontario and the world making our mark on competitions such as World Mac Games in Thailand, WMO and Continental Championships in Mexico and TBA’s in USA. Every competition has improved our skill and we would not be where we are today if it was not for Kru Chris, Kru Ashley and everyone at MAS who has dedicated their time to train us and welcome us as part of the MAS team, and of course our awesome parents who have helped us with everything from driving us to the gym every day, to booking our trips and making sure every detail is taken care of so that all we have to do is worry about the training. We are also very grateful to everyone else me and my brother have met along the way who have been a part of our training and learning.
As a result currently the two of us hold 3 gold medals and 1 silver from the Worlds in Bangkok Thailand, 1 Continental Champion title from Mexico, 1 WAKO North American title, 1 WKF National title and 2 MTO provincial titles. We both feel very honoured to have been selected to represent Canada at the 2016 IFMA World Championships in Jonkoping Sweden. Tomas is the only Under 18 Competitor who has been selected from Canada, at the age of 15 he is not shy of hard work and holds an impressive 8-1-1 record. He is very excited for this opportunity to represent his country and compete among the best in his division. Having just turned 18 and now competing in the men’s division I am also looking forward to having an opportunity to show my skills and to prove that I am among the best in my category worldwide.
IFMA is the highest level of amateur competition for the sport and with 108 countries having been confirmed we are determined to represent Team Canada and Team MAS to the very best of our abilities.We appreciate all the support that we have received thus far from family, friends, sponsors, team members and others and with your continued support we will make you proud of us and have Canada stand out as one of the best in Muay Thai martial arts and as a country. Our dream is to compete in the 2020 Olympics and our success at the IFMA World Championship will qualify us for the Olympics. Your support and/or donation would be greatly appreciated and we thank you for being a part of our journey.
