Please Help My Dad Fight Cancer

Hi, my name is Sarah Rush and I’m raising funds for my dad, James Rush. He has been fighting stage 4 advanced metastatic prostate cancer the past few years. The cancer had already spread to his bones and lymph nodes when he was diagnosed. We have been told there isn’t a cure and it is inoperable. To say we are devastated is a massive understatement. He has a team of doctors and has been doing numerous treatments to prolong his life. Last month he was in excruciating pain, so we rushed him to the ER and they found lesions on his liver. He now has neuro-endocrine small cell liver cancer as well as stage 4 prostate cancer. It is very fast-moving. He immediately began chemotherapy and immunotherapy the next day. This has been an extremely difficult thing to process for our family. He is an amazing father of 3 and husband to my mom, Patricia Rush, for the past 24 years. He has truly made us who we are and nothing I write could ever be good enough to explain what a blessing it is to be his daughter. I honestly can’t imagine my life without him. We are ultimately praying for a miracle, for his pain to be taken away, and the treatments to allow him to live as long as possible. If you’d please say a prayer for him and our family, we’d really appreciate it.

My Dad has been an electrician since he was 17 years old and he's the hardest working man I know. He continued to work following the stage 4 diagnosis, but since the liver diagnosis, he is unable to continue working. He had been the main provider for our family and my mom is now his primary caretaker. Whether it be caring for him when he is ill, taking him to appointments, or being a shoulder to cry on for the rest of our family, she manages it all. They're an incredible team and the last thing they should have to worry about right now is money. I know they won’t ask for help, but that’s where I step in and ask for them. He is currently out of work and disability will take a while to kick in. The bills are substantial, and we need help. Our family also has two girls in college and my dad is expecting his first grandchild in November (my brother’s). Please consider donating, sharing or helping to encourage him in his fight.
