Help Mary Babcock Walk Again
Donation protected
Donate to support Mary Babcock’s journey to walk again!
Mary, an Army veteran, wife, and mother of two suffered a tragic incident requiring emergency heart surgery for an aortic dissection (tear in the major artery exiting her heart).
This has resulted in severe and debilitating complications; such as vocal paralysis and a spinal stroke from clots that spread to her brain and spinal cord leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.
Mary has been receiving treatment at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, but has recently been discharged back home to allow her pressure sore to heal, and then get more aggressive therapy for the condition. She hopes to get into a rehab program closer to home to help her continue to heal with the loss of function in the lower half of her body.
Mary is a fighter and has a strong will to be able to walk again. While there is a chance she may be able to, the recovery will be a long and tough journey that will be at least 18 months to 2 years.
Any kind thoughts, prayers, and support would mean the world to Mary as well as she continues to recover!
As she and her family navigate this challenging time they are looking to support her journey and assist her at home to be as independent as possible. Mary and her family face an enormous financial burden on her road to healing and recovery and they would be forever grateful for a donation of any amount. Your donations will help cover the costs for:
1. Medical fees for the emergency ambulance and surgery
2. Rehab center fees
3. Wheelchair and wheelchair ramp for her house
4. Bathroom equipment
5. Daytime caregiver while her husband is at work
Thank you so much for considering to support Mary and her family during this time!
