Sunday August 17, 2025 my mother Marjorie Lynn Benge-Goldrich was in a tragic, fatal, single car accident. She leaves behind a disabled husband, 2 children, and 6 grand-children who were the light of her life. My dad is on a fixed income (SSI) and I am a single mother of 3 already struggling with keeping food on the table and bills paid, and now I have to lay to rest my mother, the one who was there to help anybody and everybody at the drop of a dime. She was a pillar of our community, doing anything and everything she could for everybody even while unable to help herself. In November 2023, my grandmother passed and it took a toll on my mother in a very bad way, following that loss, May 2024, my mothers home flooded, 12in inside the home which is 4ft off the ground. After loosing everything and applying for many different disaster relief programs, nothing came through. With the grief of loosing her mother, and her home all in a matter of months she resorted to finding funds at any means possible to rebuild. Over the next year, she pawned almost anything of value, got loans anywhere she could, to repair the A/C unit, replace walls, replace vehicles as they were fully submerged in the flood, and replace things that were lost. Things she didn't loose were moved to a storage unit, in fear she would flood again. In the weeks before her passing we were scrambling on how to get things out of pawn, scrambling to get FEMA to help us still, and now its all left up to me, and my step dad to handle. Her storage unit is over due, pawn items are on their last days, funeral home needs to be paid, loans I've taken to pay for arraignments need to be paid back, a memorial needs to be had, and we are struggling heavily at this time. I'm not the type of person to get on social media and ask for help, but have nowhere left to turn. My mother was the biggest part of my heart, and I am trying to do as she would have wanted me to. I post this with a heavy heart, hoping by the grace of God that there is help out there. Thank you and God bless.
