Pay off Medical Bills

Update: As of 3/8/24, I have been able to come home from the Santa Clara area and start living life again. I am back home with my son continuing my recovery and doing very well. My weekly lab results have been great, I am having mild symptoms from many medications I’m currently on but overtime my medications will slowly one by one be removed, most likely over the next 6 months to a year, leaving me just on immunosuppressants for the rest of my life. Overall I’m feeling very fortunate and appreciative of life and everyone around me that has helped me transition to being back home and be able to continue to live my life to the absolute fullest.

Update: As of 2/13/24, I have been discharged from the hospital. I am currently staying in a hotel near the hospital for the next month while they keep a close eye on me before I’m able to go home. So far my numbers look good snd my heart is fully functioning exactly how they hoped. I’m incredibly motivated to get through this month of labs and tests to get home to my sweet boy and get back to mom life and find my new normalcy as someone who was lucky enough to receive a heart and be given a second chance at life.

Update: I have since received a transplant on Wednesday 2/7/24 and am on the road to recovery. My numbers look good, I’m progressing very well and am focused on getting out of ICU to make to shift to getting closer to getting home. Hello, my name is Alicia. I’m a 24 year old full time, single mom to a beautiful one year old boy. A month ago I was playing with my son at home, going on adventures, living a normal happy life. Today, I am awaiting a heart transplant due to a very unexpected diagnosis of Heart Failure. My life has turned upside down and all I can ask for is a quick recovery to get home and go back to my normal life as a mom to my sweet boy. My hope is with even a little bit of help to alleviate financial stress, I will be able to take care of any or all medical bills I will have at the end of this journey.
