Pokhara earthquake relief effort
Donation protected
As many of you know, my husband Som is from Nepal and all of his immediate family still lives there. As a family, we have traveled to Nepal and have many happy memories of the beautiful monuments and amazing scenery. Most of all, though, we remember the warm and loving people who made us feel so special and welcome throughout our stay... our family. Now all of us, not just Som, can call Nepal our home away from home and we desperately want to help the country and the people get back on their feet.
We are collecting funds to send to the people of Pokhara, Nepal, who are devastated by the recent earthquakes. They are without access to food and adequate shelter and roads are completely demolished, limiting access to help. Every donation received will be sent directly to Nepali families and emergency charities in Pokhara and the small villiages surrounding the city. Our family will be sent the donations and will be purchasing large quantities of rice and bottled water, along with any other supplies that are identified by their neighbors, friends and extended family. They will go to the remote village where Som was born and raised, which was significantly affected, and bring food and water to those who have not yet been reached by larger organizations.they will also use funds to ensure that they themselves have enough food and water to last until there is more stability.
