In memory of Marley

I am doing this fundraiser in memory of my beautiful boy Marley who very sadly gained his angel wings on Friday 03/01/25.

I adopted Marley 10 years ago when he was 2 years old and he has always been a very active & happy boy who absolutely loved life but in february last year 2024 that all changed when he recieved the devestating diagnosis of Degenerative Myelopathy and started to lose the use of his hind legs.
This is an inherited & progressive disease with no cure and a poor prognosis so we knew we were limited on time.
Despite being disabled Marley was so full of life and wanted to live it but his hind legs were getting weaker and preventing him from doing this. He was very unsteady on his feet which was causing him to fall a lot. This progressed rapidly and he became unable to stand unaided.
I contacted an amazing charirity called Pumpkin and friends who help disabled animals by provding a free loan of wheelchairs/strollers and can also help financially with vets bills & rehabilitation costs.
Marley was loaned a wheelchair which he recieved within days of our application and on his 12th Birthday. The best Birthday present he could of ever wished for.
These wheels completely changed his life for the better ! They gave him his mobility and freedom back and seeing the pure joy on his face of being able to run on the beach, play ball and do all the things he loved again was the best sight & feeling in the world.
My boy was back and so happy.
He was recieving weekly Hydrotherapy and Physiotherapy sessions and had so many more adventures and so much fun in his wheels. These wheels gave him another 10 months full of fun until sadly his condition progressed futher affecting his front legs and he needed to rest.
This charity have helped over 1800 animals and have been our rock. Through them we have met some wonderful people and furbabies who have become our friends.
I will never be able to repay the 10 months of life and happiness they gave back to my beautiful boy which the DM sadly took from him but I am so grateful for everything they have done for us and for every other animal they have helped and want to try and give them a little back in return.
Disabled animals can live happy lives and Marley was a great example of that.
He was like a flash of lightening zooming around in his wheels.
Disabled animals deserve the right to live just as humans do.
Disability doesn't mean inability.
Pumpkin and friends charity are a non profit organisation and are all funds are raised through donations & fundraisers.
Any donations would be really appreciated and no matter how small will help massively towards helping other disabled animals like Marley x
