Syrus Needs One More Knee Surgery

Syrus, our “son,” is the light of our life. He is the first thing we think about when we wake up, he’s our first responsibility when we get ready for our day, he’s a breath of fresh air when he comes to show love during long and stressful days, and he’s genuinely the purest and most constant source of love and peace we’ve ever experienced in our lives. He’s our everything.
As most of you know, at only three and a half years old has already overcome some tough obstacles when it comes to his health and well-being (parvo, emergency tumor surgery, his first knee surgery, weeks and weeks of bed rest, and recovery.) But, through it all, he’s still been the happiest, most loving, and loyal pup we could ever ask for. But, once again, he is in pain, and this time he may need more than just our help.
It breaks our hearts even to write this, asking for help for a fully understood responsibility that we took on when we adopted him. Alyssa and I have always put our animals first and take care of all of their needs without hesitation. But, as a result of the pandemic, the industries that Alyssa and I work in have slowed down tremendously, putting us in a situation where we’re forced to decide if we should continue to pay rent/bills, feed ourselves and our animals, or get the last surgery that Syrus would need to be pain-free and back to his everyday life.
Syrus has a completely ruptured CCL. The Cranial Cruciate Ligament is a vital ligament inside the knee joints of dogs. The ligament stabilizes the stifle by preventing the shin bone from moving in front of the thigh bone. Thus, with his being torn, walking is incredibly painful for him, both physically and mentally, because he is such an active and healthy baby boy who just wants to RUN.
He only needs one more surgery to be home-free and live a long and healthy life. If you or anyone you know have the financial resources to help take my boy’s pain away — Syrus, Alyssa, and I would forever be indebted to you. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated, as will any shares of Syrus’ fight.
He’s never given up on us, ever, and we refuse to give on him.
Also, look at how dramatic he is in this photo.
We love you boy.
