Syrian Refugee Trip Expenses
Donation protected
I am so excited to be part of a medical mission to aid the Syrian Refugees in two camps in Lebanon. I will be helping medical staff in translating from Arabic to English and vice versa. Mission members consist of mental health professionals, Social workers, infectious disease providers, pharmacists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physical therapists and other MD's.
Mission Objectives:
- To provide exceptional primary care to refugee families with a focus on a holistic approach characterized by the treatment of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just the physical symptoms of a disease.
- Encourage a safe and respectful environment for patients while preserving dignity.
- An organized and transparent operation with a diverse and dynamic team.
My goal is to raise $2000:
All money that is donated to SAMS, goes directly toward the mission of providing medical care and treatment. Volunteers, such as myself, are responsible for paying for travel and lodging. This is a private donation page to help me get to Lebanon in order to be able to help translate for the patients. Any money raised beyond the cost of travel and lodging will be donated to the actual mission.
The mission is from April 14- April 20, 2018. The Team will be arriving in Beirut, Lebanon by April 13th to prepare for the mission. We will then head to Bekaa Valley where we will stay in a hotel located near the two camps we will be working at during the week.
The Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) is a nonpolitical, nonprofit medical relief organization that is working on the front lines of crisis relief in Syria and neighboring countries to alleviate suffering and save lives. SAMS proudly provides medical care and treatment to every patient in need.
I have the privilege to join SAMS in their mission to aid the Syrian refugees in two camps in Lebanon by the Syrian boarder.
