I have been accepted to the Bethel School of Worship in Redding, CA!!!
To give you some quick details: I will have the honor of attending the school July 11-22 of this year to learn about, grow in, and experience worship in a culture that I have looked up to for years. There are group classes, small group workshops, and lots of community worship. This is a ministry that I have personally had such a connection with for years, and I’m so excited that I have to opportunity to sit under the teachings of so many worship leaders I look up to.
Leading worship has become a major part of my life over the last three years. It is my passion. It is what I know I am anointed and called to do in life. Over the last few years I have gone from leading worship about once a month, to leading worship sometimes 3-4 times every week. It is my heart. I have been so blessed to be invited to so many churches in MI and I love serving wherever I'm invited. I get to lead worship at Oakland Church in Rochester Hills for their young adults group called The Gathering. I am also the worship leader for a new ministry in Marine City called The Collective. It has been a whole new growing experience to actually help launch a ministry from the ground up and lead all the aspects of worship for a ministry. It has been quite the journey.
Though I have grown in different atmospheres in worship leading, I have felt like it is time to be a student again and really take time to go to a school to learn, be encouraged, be pushed, and to grow!
I am so excited about this opportunity and am now starting to raise funds for this trip. It’s been four years I’ve raised funds for anything and it feels a little weird. However, I believe that I am supposed to go to this school, therefore I believe I will be able to go and that everything I need will be provided through working, saving, and raising funds.
Here are my needs broken down in a easy-to-understand way:
Tuition: $795 (due May 1st) I have already paid $120 for the application and the deposit.
Flight: $500 (+baggage and fees) I would really like to purchase this ASAP to cut costs every way possible!
Rental car: $200 (after splitting cost with fellow student)
Housing: $490 (lowest rate approx. $35/night)
