One of the most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know they are not alone."

This fundraiser has been set up on behalf of John
Jason "Jay" Sexton.
Jay (38) from Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland is a cherished Son, Brother and a very proud and wonderful Uncle to his niece and nephews.
After enduring a prolonged period of uncertainty and illness since first feeling unwell last year, Jay finally received an unexpected diagnosis of a rare form of advanced cancer in June 2023. Much to the surprise of his medical team.
This arduous journey, has been fraught with challenges. Jay immediately underwent treatment having undergone major back surgery in The Mater hospital and continues to receive radiotherapy and chemotherapy with St Luke's, St James Hospital Dublin.
Unfortunately as a result of the advanced stage of the cancer, complex surgery and treatment received, Jason now has limited movement in the lower limbs. He is confined to a wheelchair, unable to walk and uncertain of what may be ahead. He requires constant home care, resulting in substantial changes to him and the family life.
This life changing diagnosis has led to significant and immediate challenges for the family, emotionally, practically and financially.
We have a long turbulent journey ahead with continued treatment as we fight this battle. Jay has taken each day in his stride and we are taken back by his amazing strength and acceptance. For those who know Jay, you know this is who he is, he's a gentle giant, loving and caring and smiles throughout everything never one to complain.
We are looking to raise much needed funds towards the ongoing care and to give Jason the quality of life he deserves and also to ease the financial strain of accumulating bills and day-to-day expenses.
As a way to also show our ongoing appreciation for others, we are also looking to raise money to help support the Cancer societies who have been very supportive and can only keep going through fundraising. Among the support we have received, there is the endless drivers who have assisted transporting both family & Jay to hospital for treatment. Their support has been amazing and unfortunately you don't truly understand this until you actually have to.
Everyone has offered to help in so many ways. The support from family, friends and the community has been relentless.
We keep getting asked what more can be done or how they can help support Jay and the family through this difficult time......this is OUR chance.
Let's make a difference together.
Together, we remain united with positive attitudes to see Jay through this challenging journey, bolstered by the outpouring of love and support from all corners.
Thank you for your donation.
