Hi, my name is Robbie Evans and I am fundraising for my mother Karen Evans. Karen has been recently diagnosed with advanced stage Ovarian Cancer. This diagnosis came upon our family quite rapidly. My mother did not present many symptoms until she fell extremely ill in mid November. Her illness caused her to be taken to the Geisinger CMC emergency department where tests were done that showed signs of cancer in her abdomen. Once these tests were confirmed by biopsy myself and my sister, Vanessa Evans, took our mom to multiple consultations with Gynecological Oncologists. As a family we decided to follow the expertise of Dr. Stephanie King at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. Karen was set to begin 3 rounds of chemotherapy followed by a de bulking operation 2 weeks ago when her cancer threw her major curveball. The cancer was growing so fast that multiple infections manifested in her bowels. This led to an emergency transfer to Fox Chase Cancer Center. She was immediately admitted and spent 5 days in the Intensive Care Unit. Her chemo therapy could not begin until her infections were treated. 

***Update***Karen received her first chemo treatment on Monday 12/13. She is back at home and receiving home health care.
