Sylvia's Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
I'm here requesting any help within your limits for my son's father Rod Lozada & his mother Sylvia Lozada.
On November 11, 2024, Rod & I were at Isaiah's honor roll ceremony in the morning, commenting on how odd it was that Sylvia wasn't present because even though she wasn't feeling well, she never missed anything. About an hour later, Rod went to check on her, once her supervisors contacted him saying she never showed up to work, and found her on the floor, instantly knowing what was going on.
Sylvia suffered a massive stroke to the right side of her brain, causing paralysis on the left side of her body.
She had immediate surgery to remove the blood clot, followed by 2 craniotomy's.
Sylvia worked out everyday, ate healthy & stayed active.
She has had 4 unexpected hospital visits in between 5 different nursing homes & rehab facilities.
Rod has somehow managed to make this all happen until now
Sylvia was sent home 4/29/25 and they need our help. Between caregivers, unexpected hospital visits, supplies, medical bills, appointments, rehab & lost wages, they need any help you can offer. If you would like to help another way, I have set up a meal train.
Sylvia eats healthy and has no dietary restrictions.
She needs full time care when Rod is at work but she can eat by herself & has made a few movements in her left leg. She still has her amazing memory & witty comments to make you laugh.
Visitors are welcome if we can schedule ahead of time.
