Hi Everyone

 

As many of you know Sylvia was viciously attacked by a Rottweiler March 22 around 5:15pm. She suffered severe puncture wounds and bruising. At 13 years old, deaf and blind, you can only imagine the trauma we experienced The image of her dangling from the Rottweilers mouth is haunting . I went into full rescue mode to set her free. People came running when they heard her screams! Finally, the Rottweiler let go of her. At that point, my only concern was getting her to a hospital.

 

At the time, the owner was upset and promising to pay for everything, pleading that I don’t call the police for fear they would put his dog down. I wasn’t concerned with his dog.

The owner and I texted back and forth that evening. Unfortunately that was the end of it! He had given me a prepaid Verizon phone number. Numbers like this are difficult, if even possible, to trace. There are surveillance cameras on three of the four corners and hopefully The San Francisco Vicious Dog Unit will be able to get a clear shot of the owner’s face and get positive ID of him. The Rottweiler obviously has prior offenses and likely be put down when San Franciscos Vicious Dog Unit find him. That is not my concern.

 

My concern was to get Sylvia to a veterinary hospital fast (there are only two in San Francisco) . My friend, Chris, and I took her to ACES veterinary hospital . After her examination, ACES

presented me an estimate for surgery, shots, follow up visits etc. An estimate that would max my credit card

 

It has been over a month since the attack. Sylvia is doing well, I am happy to report, considering all that she has been through. I have not heard from the owner. I doubt I ever will.

 

As an independent contractor the pandemic has impacted my ability to work (20 weeks in 2020 and not many more in 2021) making finances tight. With heartfelt humility and gratitude I am forced to ask for your help to get through this ordeal.
