Sylvia's Kids

Sylvia Goldeen has worked with my husband for many years, most recently as his surgery scheduler for the past two years. On Tuesday morning, Sept. 5, Sylvia passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack. We are absolutely devastated. Sylvia was not only a treasured, devoted employee, but more importantly, a dear friend to all whose lives she touched.

The most tragic part is that Sylvia leaves behind two amazing children, a girl (age 18) and a boy (age 19). To add to the tragedy, the children's father died 7 months ago, also from a heart attack. These children have no other family who live in the local area, and even though they are just past the age of requiring legal guardians, they still are very much in need of the support of others.

In addition to funeral expenses, these kids will need to cover basic living expenses like rent, groceries, gas, etc. I know the family would be grateful for any contribution.

I feel in my heart that Sylvia is already looking down on her children, grateful for the love and support of so many strangers who have already reached out to help these two very special people.

Please keep these kids in your prayers. My heart breaks for them, but I can already tell that our village of friends will help them get through this.
