On July 22, 2022, Sylvia suffered a severe stroke. Given that this happened suddenly and without warning, we are certain that many of you are shocked. Sylvia is hospitalized in Chicago's downtown. She has undergone multiple surgeries and is improving. She will have difficulty recovering as she needs to relearn how to walk, speak, and even eat.

Sylvia is unable to fulfill her daily commitments at this time, which includes her position with Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Since her insurance will cover only a portion of her prolonged stays at the hospital and the rehabilitation center, we hope to receive as much assistance as possible for her. Her household income has also decreased significantly, as she will be out of work for quite some time, yet her debts are still due in full and mounting. Your donation will be utilized for her medical expenses and living expenses so that she can concentrate on making a full recovery.
