Sylvan was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2015 and continues to struggle with seizures. After two years of seeing different Doctors and specialists and trying different medications, we are not seeing much improvement in reducing his seizures. He has Status seizures, which means that they do not stop without emergency medication. These types of seizures can be fatal or can cause permanent brain damage.
We are mostly able to stop his seizures using an emergency medication but have had several helicopter flights, airplane flights, ambulance rides, and scrambles to the emergency room to stop the seizures when our emergency medication did not work.
We are so thankful for all the emergency personnel, doctors, pilots, nurses, paramedics, family and standout citizens that have been there to help! We are also thankful most of these costs are covered by Sylvan's health insurance .
The other good news is that we are making headway with alternative medicine and treatments! Just recently, we discovered that Sylvan's seizures are more than likely caused by increased geomagnetic energy that can create neurological side effects.
There are several studies that show a 99% cofidence rate in the correlation between seizures and geomagnetic energy in thousands of epilepsy patients in these studies. Sylvan's seizure journal also shows an extremely convincing correlation with seizure dates and archived geomagnetic records from solar storms.
We have been talking with a specialist that manufactures " storm shelters" that can protect Sylvan from the effects of these geomagnetic storms.
The information is fascinating and too lengthy to list but we feel we have finally found a solution to help Sylvan and possibly others that deal with this type of epilepsy!
These shelters range from $5,000 to $10,000 and at one time were only made in China. We have found a local manufacturer in New Mexico.
On top of this expense, we have been weighed down with emergency travel expenses, alternative medicines and treatments that insurance does not cover and loss of work time.
We have spent countless hours researching and trying different treatments. We feel this is the next step and graciously ask for your support.
