Update: We have been given 60 days before we have to vacate the apartment. Any assistance to get on better footing to afford a move or if you know of any rentals near Amador County please let me know!
Raising money to help us during this time of displacement from our home after the Schoolhouse apartment fire in Amador City.
Friday April 7th my wife walked outside of our apartment to find our neighbors apartment billowing smoke, she was the first to see and attempt to call 911. Unfortunately that was the day cell services had been out county wide and she was unable to get through. She was finally able to send me a message through our wifi while I was at work at the post office in Jackson. I was able to use our landline to call Sutter Creek Fire directly who responded so fast.
Unfortunately the damage cause by the fire exposed further usafe conditions in the building so we are unable to live there as it stands. My wife and I and pup are currently staying with my parents in Pioneer, but my cats are still there in the apartment while we find permanent housing.
Any little bit helps us towards finding a safe place to live, as the building as it stands is far from safe and inhabitable.
Limited housing options/cost of housing, and non-allowance of pets is scary right now but we are trying to stay positive.
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
