Joseph goes to college and Joel helps the kids
Donation protected
Now that Joel has graduated, I have decided to continue to use this go fund me to raise money to support the younger children, ages three to seven, to have clean clothing, shoes, school supplies, toys, etc. and to pay their school fees of $7.00 per month.
This continues to be Joel's story. Although the focus is now on the children, Joel is still involved in their everyday lives. I will continue to post pictures from the village at the end.

This is Joel. Please read his story below. I have his college acceptance letter as well as access to his bank account. When you click on donate, change the "Tipping" to "other" in the dropdown menu and enter 0. Together, and with your help, we can make his dream come true. Thank you.

This is Joel, in his own words. Please help me fulfill his dreams of being the first in his family of 10 children to go to college.
FAMILY BACKGROUND
My name is Joel. I am a boy of 21 years old. I was born in 4/8/1998 in Amboseli in a place called Enkong'u Narok near the Amboseli National Park in a village called Ilkangere cultural village. I am from a family of 12 members, that's father , mother and ten children. I am the sixth child in our family. We are six boys and four girls. Parents in our community teach their children when they are still young different tasks according to their genders. Boys are taught how to look after the cattle and carving and girls are taught housework and to become responsible mothers in future.
EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION
I attended Enkong'u Narok Primary school where I was enrolled in standard one in 2005, which I used to walk a distance of 6kms from home to where the school is located until I was able to escape from wild animals, especially elephants and lions which was the main challenge I encountered. In 2012, I sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) which gave me a ticket to join high school in 2013. I went to Enkii Boys high school for secondary education in Loitokitok in Kenya. This is where the challenge came in paying the school fee after a long period of drought that killed our animals in 2009 to an extend that almost all families left with nothing. And so we had nothing to sell for the payment of school fee but we struggled for till a finished high school in 2016.
DREAMS AND HOPES IN FUTURE
I have some dreams and goals that I want to fulfill later in life. After a long period of drought the killed our animals in 2009, I developed a heart of doing something to the environment later in life and this send me to join environmental clubs in high school to do volunteering work of planting trees in schools and there a set this in my mind as my course later in college or University. Second I would wish to fight poverty in my family and to the community in general after joining college by good luck and acquiring the skills and graduate and getting a well paying job for raising young children in their education in the community. So I was happy to meet Susan and Sam when they visited us and sharing piece part of my life and my dreams and goals in future. I was almost losing hope since I am approaching the third year still at home but I thank God because Susie gave me a message of hope again. So that is why I wanted to go to College.

It is so important to keep up the momentum of supporting Joel's dream to be the first in his family to go to college.
In less than a month, Joel will travel 6 hours from his home to attend the Kenya Wildlife Service Training Institute. It is definitely not too late to add your contribution to his education. Here is a pictures of one of the animals that Joel sees on his way to and from his village to the Amboseli Serena Hotel, where he gets the best phone reception. You will also see a selfie of Joel, as well as a picture of the very young children who attend the village pre school. It wasn't always this way, but in recent years, going to school and getting a good education has become a priority in Joel's Maasai Village.
