Asalamwalaikum everyone,
I am starting a Go Fund Me on behalf of my cousin, Syed Areeb Ahmed who was a victim of the New Zealand Christchurch Mosque shooting.
For those who did not know Syed Areeb, he was an ambitious 27-year old who had just moved to New Zealand less than a year ago from Karachi, Pakistan. He was excited to start his career and start supporting his family back home. Syed Areeb had taken a break to go read Jummah Prayer, which is where he was shot and killed by the gunman in this tragic incident. He died protecting a little girl and a woman. He jumped in front of them and took the bullets. May Allah SWT grant him the highest level of Jannat-ul-Firdous.
The funds will be sent to his family back home in Karachi, Pakistan. He was the sole son of his family that was earning to support his parents and younger sister. I want to do whatever I can to help them in this time of need. May Allah SWT reward all of our efforts.
Mehreen Ahmed will be collecting the money and sending to Syed Areeb's family at the end of March. She is my first cousin, and also related to the victim.

(It is He) Who created death and life that He may try you- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, (67:2)
