Sydney needs a Kidney!
Donation protected
Hi Family and Friends,
This past year, my niece, Sydney has endured several life challenges that led to her body rejecting the kidney transplant she received from her father in 2016.
In 2012, Sydney found out she had kidney disease (2 failing kidneys), incredibly rare for someone of such a young age. Since then, she has been struggling to live normally due to medication and illness affecting every area of her life. Earlier this year, Sydney experienced kidney failure for the second time and almost died. She has been in a very critical state of health since then and only surviving through daily dialysis to rid her body of toxins.
Since her transplant failed in January, her life has been a continuum of taking pills daily and hooking up to dialysis every night from 8 pm - 8 am. It has not only been stressful and scary for Sydney, but also for her immediate family who are doing everything they can to care for Sydney during this time. Dialysis is an incredible process that we are thankful keeps her alive without any functioning kidneys. It is also very time-consuming, invasive, limiting, and oftentimes painful.
Sydney is currently undergoing all of the preparation and testing to receive another kidney. Many members of her immediate family have gone through the long grueling process of testing to become donors. We wait in prayer to find out who a possible donor could be.
Though it is a very private family matter we feel it is important to share that we recently discovered Sydney’s former fiancé at the time was taking financial advantage of her poor health. There is no doubt that this abusive situation directly impacted her decline in health. We are disturbed and shocked, but thankful Sydney is now in good hands. We are doing everything we can to help her recover physically, emotionally, and financially.
We are very hopeful Sydney may have the opportunity to receive a new kidney transplant, but in the meantime her disability has rendered her unable to work. Sydney's condition requires frequent demands of medical monitoring and strict adherence to diet and nutrition. This requires constant health care assitance, transportation needs, and financial means to cover many hospital visits for ongoing health scares and dialysis treatments.
I am reaching out for help for Sydney. I feel she would greatly benefit from the smallest of donations. If you know Sydney, her laugh, her zest for life, and her love for helping people is not something we want to ever live without.
If you would like to make a monetary donation please do so here. If you would like to send help in other areas, please reach out to the family on other social media platforms. Thank you again for supporting our little peanut as she so bravely battles this illness! The family is incredibly grateful!
