Who are we?
We're a group of 70 students at the University of Sydney building next-gen lunar and mars rovers to compete in 2026 at the Australian Rover Challenge in Adelaide and University Rover Challenge in Utah, USA. Our team is comprised not only of students studying engineering and science but also those from arts, business, law and medicine!

Why donate to SIRI?
You will be contributing to:
- The development of a talented and passionate group of students who are eager to be Australia’s future space workforce!
- An outreach program that encourages young people to consider a future in STEM.
- A platform for diverse students to engage in inter-disciplinary cooperation and technical innovation to achieve a shared vision.
How will we use your funds?
All donations will directly support the construction of our small-scale rover prototype from August-December 2024 that will build team skills, experience and processes for our future competition rover to be constructed beginning in January 2025. Our small-scale prototype will be displayed at the Australian International Airshow at Avalon in March 2025 and our full-size rover will be demonstrated at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Sydney in September 2025. We will also use our rovers for outreach programs in partnership with organisations such as the PowerHouse Museum and the Starlight Foundation to get young people engaged and excited about a future in STEM.
