Sydnee was a Valentine's Day gift for my wife 6 years ago and she has been part of our family ever since. She has always been full of energy, extremely patient with our kids and always ready for a car ride. Over the last few months, she has been sick off and on. Only feeling good when she was on prescription antibiotics. The last couple of days, Sydnee all but refused to get up. She wouldn't eat and barely drank anything. When she would sleep, should pant, and we couldn't take it any longer.  She was obviously sick and we were worried. We took her to the vet to have blood drawn and they called us yesterday with the potential diagnosis. It isn't good. All signs pointed toward IMHA, which is a disease that causes her immune system to attack it's own red blood cells, she was anemic and struggling to breathe because of the lack of oxygen in her blood. We rushed her to the ER, where they immediately gave her a blood transfusion, medications to stop her immune system from attacking her and IVs to keep her hydrated. The plan was to have her there for a couple of days and then have her come home with long term medications. We spoke to the Dr. tonight and we were told her breathing has not gotten better, which may mean she has a blood clot in her lung. We paid $3500 yesterday for a plan that "covered" expenses for 2 days. According to the Dr., she may need to be there for several more nights with several more transfusions. I know everyone has their own problems right now and I am not one to ask for handouts, but for Sydnee I will. Any help you can give to help cover he expenses to get her well would be amazing. Our family would appreciate it and most of all, Sydnee would appreciate it.
