Hi, my name is Rocky Woolford, the youngest son of Sybil. Sybil Woolford, age 92, was the wife of John Woolford and mother of Paula, Clive, Chris, Vanessa, Lauren and myself. She was the grandmother to Jennifer, Amanda, Kevin, Jaden, Ethan, Mercy, Payton, Angelika, Nathanael, Morgan, Reagan, Adeline and Ellie.
She was a sweet, kind, gentle, selfless, funny yet fiery, strong, and unbelievably loving wife, mother and grandmother to us for over 68 years. Her dedication to caring for her husband, children and grandchildren was her paramount responsibility and was displayed in her actions throughout her life. Her excellence in preparing authentic Guyanese cuisine was second to none. It was evident to us that her cooking was amazing when it came in high demand throughout our family and friends.
Her love for her Savior was evident in her love for His Word, the weekly gathering of the saints at church, her love for her church family, the daily humming of hymns and her excitement to help out in any way she could.
She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and dementia in 2018.
Her struggle with these two debilitating diseases proved difficult for her children as we watched her spiral into memory lapses and slowly disconnect from her entire family. The decision to care for her at home in the same manner as how we, her children, cared for our father at home was a no-brainer.
She passed away into eternity to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 6th, 2023. She will be missed greatly.
This fundraiser is designed to assist with the costs associated with her burial.
Thank you, family and friends, for the love shown to our family during this time of mourning her passing.
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words."
