Hope for Harmony
Harmony is battling Stage 3 Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia. This has been completely unexpected and heartbreaking for her and her husband Tyler.
Tyler serves in the United States Army and recently returned home from deployment. Soon after his return, Harmony and Tyler were elated to announce that they would be expecting a baby! Harmony began bleeding at 6 weeks and called the doctor. At 7 weeks, she was told it was not a viable pregnancy and she would likely miscarry. Her dreams of becoming a mother were shattered. As they grieved this incredible loss, Harmony began feeling quite sick and returned to the doctor.
Through multiple ultrasounds and tests it was soon confirmed that the pregnancy was actually a molar pregnancy. Within a week Harmony was in laparoscopic surgery to remove the mole. Harmony was contacted within days and informed that the molar pregnancy was actually cancer.
Afraid and confused, Harmony and Tyler met with an oncologist. This type of cancer is aggressive, but treatable as long as they fight hard and fast! Chemotherapy started immediately.
During her treatment, Harmony has remained optimistic even through many setbacks. The cancer has spread from her uterus, to her lungs. She has overcome pneumonia, and recently a severe blood infection.
Harmony is an amazing social worker and has had to take leave from her job due to the risks of COVID-19 and her weakened immune system.
The bills are piling up, and she’s not sure how they will be able to pull through. She’s fighting so hard, and trying to remain optimistic. Your help would mean so much to this beautiful soul!
