Support for Marilyn

Our mother and father were true partners for over 43 years. Every decision made was made together. Every hardship, faced together. They met in high school, a love at first sight story scarcely rivaled by those told in Hollywood. They raised four sons and lived in many different states on their adventure through life together.

Unfortunately, our father David Wren passed away on July 4th very suddenly just before his 62nd birthday and their 44th anniversary (both on July 31st). He was the first of five children, and the first to pass. He leaves behind not only a wife and children, brothers and sisters, but both of his parents as well. It is very hard thing to say goodbye to someone you love under the best of circumstances, and even harder when a sudden death seems so unintelligible. But, this is about his loving wife and the unfortunate situation that this abrupt and life-altering tragedy has left her in.

Our mother, Marilyn, lives on the border of Oregon and Washington. Due to the fact that she recently changed jobs, and now works in Washington rather than Oregon, she finds herself in the position of being ineligible for Family Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA) from either state. Another unfortunate consequence of the job change across state lines meant that his life insurance policy expired. Not only that, but he passed one month before he was eligible to draw social security, finally lending them the financial stability which they've been seeking for many years.

We are grateful for all the love and support from our family and friends that have reached out to us during these most difficult and heartbreaking days. We understand that these are trying times for many, but we are reaching out to those who can help our mother by providing financial support to help cover end of life, medical and travel expenses.

All funds raised will go directly to Marilyn. Please know that any amount is appreciated tremendously. We encourage you to please share with your network of friends and family.

Our goal is to help support her with the following expenses:

*Two ambulance rides (not covered by insurance).
*Insurance deductible of $6500-$10,000 (will update with final figure).
*Funerary expenses.
*Travel expenses to and from Texas.
*Two months of lost wages.

Thank you all so much for your support. Stay safe and healthy.
