Winton Wanderers is proud to host our very first Colour Fun Run in support of Once Upon a Smile, a remarkable children’s bereavement charity dedicated to helping families rebuild their lives after the loss of a loved one. We have chosen this cause because no child or family should have to face grief alone. Once Upon a Smile provides vital practical and emotional support during one of the most traumatic times a family can experience, helping children navigate overwhelming feelings of loss, confusion, and heartbreak with compassion and care.

Based at Sidley House in Trafford, Greater Manchester, the charity offers a unique, safe, and welcoming environment designed especially for bereaved children and young people. With thoughtfully created spaces for creativity, expression, and remembrance, it gives families the chance to heal, connect, and find hope for the future. Through our Colour Fun Run, we aim not only to raise funds but also to raise awareness of the incredible work they do — bringing our community together to support children when they need it most and to help ensure that no grieving child walks their journey alone
