Support Gianna’s Long Road to Recovery

Hello family, community, and friends. As most of you know by now, my daughter was hit by a car driving with no headlights right next to our home on December 26. She did have her reflective jacket and lights on. I got a call at work that would devastate me. Gianna was in an accident. I went directly to Condell and was waiting in the Chaplain's office for about two hours before seeing her so they could clean her up. She was flown approximately 25/35 feet. Luckily, she is alive, but we have some heavy medical things that she will need to fix the damages done in the accident. Gianna has no memory of the accident or before; she’s slowly getting her memory back and really hopes to be able to remember her teachers and friends at school that she looks up to so much. In addition to the concussion, she is missing teeth that will need to be replaced, and also her left eyebrow is gone. Her nails also came off in the accident. The doctors stated that her eyebrow hair would never grow back. Her neck is hurting, and she is still in her neck brace. Many people have asked how to help, and it’s hard to say because we just don’t know the long-term effects yet, besides a few things. Gianna right now is also unable to eat many things because of the mouth damage done. First and foremost, we want to thank everyone who has come and just given Gianna love and prayed for her and our family during this time. These funds will go to Gianna for long-term surgeries she will have to do. We are not sure yet if the person who hit her has insurance, and we know she’s going to need 16 weeks of therapy for cognitive and physical recovery. In addition, she will need trauma recovery as well. We are hoping that when she feels better, she can use some of these funds to also be able to do some things with her friends to regain everything she has missed. Gianna is the person who is always giving; she loves giving gifts, hugs, and making everyone laugh or smile. She also gives out the best compliments. She is an amazing big sister and typically helps with all of her siblings. If you find it in your heart to give or share this, we want to thank you, and we want to thank everyone for continuing to pray and check on us. She cannot wait to be able to get back to her normal life. ❤️
