Will & Joanne's Holiday Blessing
Donation protected
Hey guys....Thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully donate to this worthy cause. I am sure everyone local has heard about the plane that crashed into the roof of some of my neighbors Will & Joanne's home last Tuesday 12/15/15. Let me first say that I am very Thankful that everyone was ok (including the pilots).
The devastation and loss suffered by Will & Joanne didn't impact me as significantly last week as it did today. Last week, everyones main concern was that all who were involved were miraculously ok. We all knew that insurance would pay for the damages to the home and "Thank God everyone is ok".
Today, nearly a week later, my heart broke as I rode by their house. I looked over and saw the elderly Mr. Will sitting in a chair in his front yard. He sat with a blank stare on his face looking up at the sky. One of his pets sat in his lap and his wrecked, fuel stinched, vacated home sat behind him. I started to look up to see what he was looking at but right at that moment I heard a plane fly over head.
This morning, in that very moment, I realized how traumatic this has been for he and his wife. He told me (the day of the crash) that he was in the front room when the planed crashed right over his head and his wife was on the back deck. He described to me how he was knocked to the ground (in his home) by a fallen limb when the plane crashed through the roof over his head. He then heard the pilots yelling for help (as diesel fuel was leaking) and he began to assist in their rescue. He is truly a hero for the things he had to endure that day and is enduring now.
They have been displaced from their home at what I consider one of the hardest times of year. While nearly everyone else is decorating, preparing for Christmas and sipping some "holiday cheer"; Mr. Will & Mrs. Joann have been evicted (due to a plane) and finding solace by "just sitting" in their front yard during the day to get as close to HOME as possible.
What about the damages that insurance won't pay for? Damages to some of their precious memorabilia that no amount of money could ever replace. What about the nightmares that he undoubtedly has had or will have over the next weeks, months or even years?
The hype is over, the news crews and bystanders are gone, people are no longer trying to get the best images to post on Facebook first.....Life is back to normal right??? At least for most of us reading this plea for help.
Please help me raise funds to present to Mr. Will & Mrs. Joann on New Years Day 2016. I am hopeful that this money raised will be outpouring of love from this community (in a tangible form) to let them know they are not alone. This gift will be a shining light at the end of a dark tunnel as we begin a New Year! We don't have much time, please help me spread the word. Thank you for donating and sharing. May God Bless you and your families this Holiday Season.
