Life-saving device for Stroke and Heart Disease
Donation protected
Hello! I am raising funds to attend an MIT HMS Healthcare Innovation Bootcamp. I am founder of AtheroeM and inventor of a transformative medical device which has the potential to save lives and improve health deficits and specifically impacts those who suffer from stroke and coronary artery disease. The MIT HMS bootcamp is a selective program and they have admitted me to the program based on the merit of my work and potential to have a broad and global impact.
The program will help me take the crucial steps needed in order to fully commercialize this device and bring it to market so that it can be used in the clinic to save patient's lives. The tuition cost is $10,000 for the week, and I plan on self-funding my travel expenses. Tuition is due May 15, 2019.
Briefly, catheter-based treatments are done under X-ray imaging, a modality that is great at seeing bones and metal instruments but is not good at imaging soft-tissue. My breakthrough innovation is a medical device which can be navigated through an artery or vein under MRI-guidance. MRI allows the doctor to see soft-tissue and the properties of the device make it amenable to distant, delicate vasculature of the brain and heart for treatment of stroke and coronary artery disease--which are leading causes of death and disability across the globe.
Any help is appreciated!
