Please help me keep my kids safe

I'm going to set my pride aside and ask for help in keeping my kids safe and away from their father. I'll try to keep this short as some of you already know my story.

I got married in 2015 and had two kids within two years. My childhood dream of having a family was real...until it wasn't. On Tuesday April 24th, 2018, my dream had turned into a nightmare. I found out my husband at the time had been abusing my oldest and severely abusing my youngest who was 5 months old. Fathers are there to keep the monsters away, little did I know, he was the monster. He used to put Vaseline on her to cover up the marks he would make when he would hurt her, but this time the bruising was too prominent. (He later admitted to starting the abuse in the hospital, the day she was born). This was the last time he was allowed in my home and the last time I let him see my kids.

He was only sentenced to 3 months in jail, 5 years of probation (with some additional requirements) and a 5-year restraining order. His probation and restraining order ended in 2023. Since then, we have been to court a few times, but now he is asking for visitation. We go to trial at the end of May because I'm not agreeing with what he is asking for and I would like to put another restraining order on him for as long as possible. I won't allow him to be integrated back into my kids’ lives, it's just not safe. Their safety and well-being are my number one priority!

The girls enjoy being involved in many different things such as school activities, sports and other activities around the community. Some of the activities they’re currently participating in are, softball, gymnastics, dance, swim lessons, cheerleading and girl scouts. I have them in after school care so I’m able to work a full day and on weekends occasionally, just to be able to afford their activities because I make minimal income and receive minimal child support.

I'm asking for help with attorney fees for this upcoming court date. Anything donated past that limit will go towards future court dates, as I’m sure this is just the beginning of a long custody battle for years to come.

Please help me keep this monster away from my kids until they're adults.
