Help Rabiaz Khan Family
Donation protected
Meet Rabiaz Khan, a father of eight. He hails from Banu, a small impoverished town in one of the poorest provinces of Pakistan. In order to provide a better life for his family, Rabiaz moved to Lahore, a major urban city. In this new city, Rabiaz struggled and worked hard to provide for his family as he had no connections and he did not even speak the local language. He worked as a daily laborer, hauling bricks on his head all day long in sweltering heat of Lahore across various construction sites. He made less than a dollar a day. Later, in life, he started working as a domestic personal driver for families in Pakistan earning PKR 20,000 (or $122 dollars) per month to feed and educate his family of eight.
In a country, where it is extremely hard to break the cycle of poverty, Rabiaz and his family were barely surviving. Then COVID-19 hit Pakistan and Rabiaz was diagnosed with COVID-19 on June 18th. As his condition worsened, he was transferred to a government hospital on June 25th.
He survived COVID but due to poor hygienic conditions in government hospital and lack of proper care, he got sepsis and was in critical condition. He was moved to ICU again and his condition was deteriorating each day. The doctors in the hospital advised the family to move him to private hospital if they want his life saved.
His children in desperate need called me on July 19th. They immediately needed PKR 100,00.00 (or $690) to move him from public to private hospital. I have known Rabiaz and his family for ten years. My family and I were able to provide the cash needed at that time.
Rabiaz has since been in the private hospital (Evercare) ICU for four days. He is diagnosed with chest sepsis pneumonia and is on BiPAP and struggling for his life.
The hospital is charging almost PKR 100,000 (or $690.00) per day. Bills for the past couple of days are PKR 244,867.00 (or $1,465.00) . He is anticipated to stay in the hospital for a while as he is still critical and need round the clock care.
Rabiaz and his family cannot afford to pay the hospital bills and get the medical care needed for him to survive.
I request you to please donate for Rabiaz to save his life.
