Hailey Canfield journey

Hi I'm dad of Hailey and I'm asking for some help with medical bills and help with normal everyday bills as wife is out of work.

Hailey was born 11-1-2023 at 10:01 am she weighed 1 lb 12 oz and 13.48 inches long. She was born at 28 weeks and will be in hospital for 12 weeks minimum. Wife had a medical emergency C-section for the baby Hailey to come early. Due to complications with pregnancy. Liver enzymes was so high and to much protein in moms (Nicole) urine. We're in need of any help with medical bills and helping our family with this. Yes we we're expecting baby Hailey but didn't expect this early Hailey is in the NICU for 12 weeks minimum. Started off with $10,000 but I'm sure it will be way more.

Update 11-8-2023 doctors did a CT scan to check her brain for anything not normal. They did find a blood floating around in her brain but doctor want to wait a week to see if the blood absorbs into her body before going any farther than need. Hailey is doing good she is move and still needing prayers.

Update 11-14-2023

The good she had grown bigger and heavier. She now 2 lbs 3.5 oz and 14.75 long she is here and fighting. The bad is she had a rough day.

She has been having a little rapid breathing and a little temp so the Dr. wanted to check to make sure there is no infection in her lungs or something in her stomach everything looked good in her stomach but her Pic-line moved and there was a little haziness on upper left lung which could be fluid from the pic line as it was moved again.

So they took it out and she seems to be doing a little better & her temp is gone. They also recommend a Blood transfusion as her Red blood cells went from 40 to 26 which is way to low so they are hoping by her getting this she will be feeling much better. Also they sent tests out to ck for any infection and started her on Antibiotics too just to be ahead of the game.

She also has her scan on her Brain in morning too its just so much for this little peanut to have to go through I wish I could do it all for her.

Update 11-24-2023

Hailey is doing good her blood pocket on her Brain on right side has gone down quite a bit to almost nothing they are still monitoring the left side as its not getting bigger but not getting smaller. She has made it up to 2lbs 15.9 oz she is getting bigger and doing good. Again we're told she will still be in the hospital tell January 2024.

Update 12-27-2023 Hailey is doing good and gaining weight she is now 4 lbs 15.4 oz she is 16.5 inches long still have a long time to go as she need to not have the drops in heart rate and oxygen levels. She is doing good she has made off her breathing tube cpap and is breathing room air on her own. Still has feeding tube. Please continue to pray and donate if possible as our regular bills are plying up as were spending time with her and can't work as much. Please continue to help our family if you can if not share.

Update 12-31-2023

Hailey is doing good she has moved to the NICU step down floor and is taking bottle like she should she still get over tired quickly an falls asleep before finishing bottle. She still has ways to go but is on track. Memeber she might be 3 months here soon but she is still 3 months behind as she still supposed to be in mommy. So the doctors are still monitoring her. Update 1-12-2024

Hailey was released from hospital and was able to go home after 71 days and is doing good. She weights now 6lbs 5 oz and very lively she will let you know when she is hungry and definitely when she was sleeping time. Thank you all for all donations and please keep them coming if possible were still behind on our everyday bills that insurance doesn't cover. God bless everyone for the donations.

Update 2-6-2024

Hailey is back in the hospital she is not feeling good she has a back up in the fluid on her Brain (hydrocephalus) doctors want to give a MRI in the next 24 hours. But they did do a ultrasound and they did find fluid in the cranium. Please help our family and keep us in the family.

Update 2-7-2024 Hailey was emergency transported to Helen DeVos in Grand Rapids, Mi as there the only hospital that has a pediatric nuro doctor on staff. She will be going under the knife on the 8th to install and shunt to remove the pressure on her Brain.

Update 2-9-2024

Yesterday on the 8th she had to get a shunt installed to relieve the pressure on her Brain

She is doing good but had a missup this morning throwing up the lead nurse came in and pumped her shunt as they feel it wasn't working. There keeping her for another night so hopefully she can go home on Saturday the 10th if not may not be tell Monday. This little girl has been through enough and it's been rough on our finances so if you have extra please donate and if you can't spare extra cash share so someone who can. This means alot to our family we are in need of help I don't like asking but our everyday bills are way behind I don't know what our landlord is going to do as I've been out of work for a week and half helping Hailey.

2-25-2024 update again

Hailey is back in th3 hospital with possible has a infection with her shunt as she has been awake for 24 hours temp was 100.3 and with in 20 mins the temp went up too 100.7 and now is at 101.4 which was 4 hours later they gave Tylenol for fever and pain. But they took blood work and culture of the spinal fluid. So now it's a waiting game and she has been admitted to the hospital. She has a infection on her brain and spinal fluid. She is on antibiotics to remove the infection. Please pray for her She has gone though alot.

Update 3-8-2024

Hailey came home after being in the hospital for 2 weeks with the infection. Doctors still want to install a new shunt but can't as Hailey needs to heal first for a few weeks before her surgery. I will update more info when Hailey comes in with her surgery.

UPDATE 4-2-2024

Hailey is back in the hospital she has server pressure on her Brain. So there going in on 4-3-2024 to do surgery to relieve the pressure and install a shunt to help with the pressure. Yes this is the style shunt she had installed in February that she gained a staff infection and had to have emergency surgery to remove it. As her parents were taking a chance to get this done again as if we don't we can loose her completely and we don't want that. This young lady has faught for life since she was born dead and had to be revived. Please keep her in your prayers and donate or share if you can or both. More updates will come as we get more update.

(update) 4-7-2025

Hailey is still running strong she has had a big journey with head trauma from a hospital giving her a staff infection from not so clean equipment or staff. She has had a sleep study to see how the seizures are coming and going and if she is in need of more medical surgery or medication. Hailey is strong and is looking for support as our family is in need of help to get to her appointment which are hour to hour and half away from home. I know its been awhile since last update but really hasn't had any change. There is a appointment on Friday the 4-11 for a eye exam to see if there is any swelling in her brain as they can look behind her eyes to see if anything is wrong. She is in need of a brace to keep her straight while she is sitting up right while eating. She is in need of this to help her straighten her posture.
