Help Roxie Get Tumor Removal Surgery

Hi everyone,

My fiancé and I are trying to raise money to help our pup Roxie get the surgery she needs to live a long, fulfilling life. Roxie is a rescue from SC who came into our home when she was 8 weeks old and has filled our lives with love ever since. She will be celebrating her 7th birthday on February 9th, 2023 and her birthday wish is to be fully recovered and tumor free. In the last few weeks, multiple blood tests revealed Roxie has high calcium levels and our vet informed us that this is usually indicative of cancer in dogs. We wanted to act quickly so our vet recommended an abdominal ultrasound and a full chest x-ray which thankfully came back clear. They also checked for adenocarcinoma (anal gland cancer) where they found a mass and sent us to a surgical specialist. The specialist didn't feel the mass and sent us back to our regular vet for confirmation where he agreed the mass was no longer there (thank God!) but advised us to get an extensive calcium test done that would tell us if she has a tumor on her parathyroid. This is often linked to high calcium levels.

Unfortunately, the test came back conclusive of a parathyroid tumor. At this time we don't know if it's cancerous and lucky for us we found it very early and it has not metastasized anywhere in her body but time is of the essence! The money we are looking to raise will cover the costs of Roxie's second surgical consult, ultrasound of her neck, surgery to remove the tumor, medications, a biopsy, post-op check-up, stitch removal and aftercare. We hate to have to reach out for help but the last couple of years have been tough on us financially as I am sure it has been on everyone. We have spent an astronomical amount of money already on vet visits, bloodwork and medical imaging to get to this point. Especially being they led us in the wrong direction thinking it was adenocarcinoma this whole time.
