My father, Paul Baptiste, is currently in Boston hospital being prepped for open-heart surgery. He has 3-4 blockages, one on the main artery and what the nurses call a "leaky valve." They are in the process of preparing him for surgery, possibly by Friday, May 20th. My dad will need an at-home nurse when he comes home. On top of congestive heart failure, he is also dealing with COPD, anemia and borderline diabetes. The doctors emphasize that he is a "very sickly man who is lucky to have not had a massive heart attack." By gods will, he has managed to avoid that. Unfortunately, the prices are piling up due to the tests, doctor's appointments, and prolonged hospital stays. Due to my dad being on disability, his insurance is not the best and will not cover a lot of these expenses.
