Jeffrey Scrogum and Family
Donation protected
This donation request is for Jeffrey Scrogum, his wife, Mary, and their two year old daughter, Ivy. They are a young family in need of your help due to an unexpected brain cancer diagnosis. On September 14th Jeffrey had a grand mal seizure while traveling to see his family in Virginia after the loss of his grandmother. After a CT scan, an MRI, and a biopsy, they found out his diagnosis; Oligodendroglioma(grade 2 brain cancer). With numerous doctor visits, tests, and scans in between, on October 27th, he had an awake craniotomy at Moffitt Cancer Center. 70% of the tumor was removed with some compromise to his functionalities. He is waiting for results from the craniotomy to determine the type of chemo and radiation he will receive. We do know that this type of cancer is not curable, but it is manageable. After chemo and radiation he will have MRI’s done periodically to monitor the tumor. Jeffrey is a lead flooring technician by trade and is unable to drive or work for at least 6 months to 1 year. Our world has been turned upside down and at an unimaginable time like this, anything truly does help. Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers, positivity, and support for this family. Donations to help support them with medical bills, daycare, and life would be greatly appreciated.
