Swire Shipping for charity
Donation protected
Swire Shipping have formed 5 teams to compete in the upcoming Western Sydney 703 Ironman on 24 November 2019. We would like to take this opportunity to raise money for those who need. Funds received will be divided up equally to the below 3 charities:
1. Friends with Dignity: Friends with Dignity recognizes that domestic violence does not discriminate. It affects men, women and children irrespective of race, ethnicity or socio-economic standing and our programs are available, on referral, to any individual or family seeking assistance. All donations go directly to supporting survivors of domestic violence to rebuild their lives and reclaim their dignity.
Friends with Dignity is a volunteer based not for profit registered charity that provides practical programs to assist survivors of domestic violence in collaboration with refuge and crisis centres.
Built on the foundation that change is effected through community engagement, their programs encourage individuals, groups and organisations to actively initiate change by providing tangible ways in which we all can Step Up, Speak Out and Support. Beyond raising awareness of domestic violence, they seek to work with communities to be part of the solution.
Their ongoing and respected relationships with local refuges and crisis centres is testament to the dedication of their volunteers, and professional leadership of their executive team. An entrusted partner to those on the ‘front line’, they work not in competition, but alongside these and other organisations, recognizing that their mutual goal is to reduce the instances of domestic violence in Australia.
2. WFWP Australia (Women’s Federation for World Peace Australia)
This organisation empowers women in the Pacific Island by providing education and humanitarian projects.
Example of projects currently asking for donation:
Books for the island (Solomon islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Samoa

3. Beyond Blue
Three million Australians are currently experiencing anxiety or depression.1 Every day, nearly eight people take their own lives.
Because this affects all of us, we’re equipping everyone in Australia with the knowledge and skills to protect their own mental health. We’re giving people the confidence to support those around them, and making anxiety, depression and suicide part of everyday conversations.
As well as tackling stigma, prejudice and discrimination, we’re breaking down the barriers that prevent people from speaking up and reaching out. We're here for everyone in Australia – at work, home, school, university, online, and in communities across the country.
