Hi,
My name is Jeremy Husserl, and I am a Black, Indigenous and Jewish film student at DePaul University. I am also the director and one of the writers of my upcoming political black comedy thriller short film Swipe Right.
Swipe Right follows Two Alt-Right conspiracy theorists meet over a dating app. As their romance intensifies, so do their delusions about the daycare that is operating next door. This has been a passion project my brother and I have been developing for the past 5 years as a response to our nonsensical political climate as well as the false notion that comedy is dead.
With Swipe Right, we aim to make a complex film that's both entertaining and leaves the viewer with a sense that things in our country need changing. It is a call to action for those who are sick of the madness.
I have included a pitch deck with more information about the film here. We really see Swipe Right as a way to both fight back as well as create a space within the film industry for more original storytelling.
We hope to raise at least $10,000 by July through a combination of grants, contests and this gofundme.
