SWINSON STRONG
Donation protected
We have started this GoFundMe page to allow friends, family, and loved ones to help support Ryan Swinson's cause and donate to his medical expenses.
On February 4, Ryan was diagnosed with brain cancer. 3 days later, he underwent awake brain surgery and they were able to successfully remove all of the tumor. On February 22, Ryan had a follow up appointment with oncology in Miami, FL. The tissue analysis revealed that he had an anaplastic astrocytoma (grade 3) tumor, a very rare and malignant brain cancer.
Due to the nature of this type of cancer, Ryan is essentially guaranteed to develop another brain tumor in the near future. He will be getting frequent MRIs for the foreesable future to detect the next brain tumor as soon as it's developing. Ryan also has a specific gene mutation that will make him eligible for experimental treatments down the line, if it ever needs to come to that.
On March 6, Ryan will begin 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation to the area. This will hopefully help delay the next tumor as long as possible.
Ryan, you have been so incredibly strong and brave throughout this process. We want to thank EVERYONE on behalf of Ryan and his family. He has been showered with endless love and support by those around him. Ryan and his family are so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
*Please note that ANY amount of donation will be appreciated. These funds will help go towards hospitalization/ICU expenses, brain surgery expenses, chemo/radiation treatments, and ongoing MRIs, tests, and other procedures in the future. *
“Cancer can take away all of my of my physical abilities. It CANNOT touch my mind, it CANNOT touch my heart, and it CANNOT touch my soul."
" 'If you see me in a fight with a bear, pray for the bear.' I've always loved that quote. That's 'mamba mentality'. We don't quit, we don't cower, we don't run. We endure and conquer.' "
