Not everyone in the United States has access to medical care, and for people with diabetes who are insulin-dependent, this can be a life or death situation. My daughter is a Type 1 Diabetic, and I am swimming the English Channel to raise money to help other diabetics. The organization I'm raising money for is Mutual Aid Diabetes, a volunteer-run group of diabetics dedicated to caring for the community by connecting members in need with medication, insulin, supplies, and healthcare.
